Back to school at nine

The days are getting shorter
(And cooler, I suppose)
Four months left in this decade
Don't you wonder where it goes?

The last stab of summer at nine

More water is carried
By air that is warm.
That heat also powers
The largest of storms.
This trend will continue,
How long have we got?
Tonight is some songs
About how it's been hot.

all over the place, like the heat, at nine

First it was hot and then it rained
So that was mind of nice
Tonight, I'm playing music
Stuff I like, to be precise

everything but the ugly, boring truth at nine

You can say I'm in denial
And you would not be wrong
But if we're going to be honest
This year's already too long.

Cool off at nine

After driving around all week
In inhumane summer heat
And humidity un-unique
I'm ready for some notes and a beat

Let me tell you a story at nine

Last year was Christmas in July
But looking back, I think
That didn't really do so well
So tonight's classical strings.

By sound alone, at nine

owning a house is just
knowing the difference between
forty and four grand
