We'll probably drink, too, at nine

We're all holed up in our homes
Haven't seen our friends in ages
Not even for a sit down meal
We all cover our faces
And, we'll see, two weeks from now
How bad it all might go
But tonight, we'll dance and chat and laugh
Happy to see this year go

It's actually winter now, at nine

The nights are getting longer
The days are growing cold
We've done this so many times
You now need not be told
Sit down for a while
Come rest beside my hearth
We shall share a glass or two
And revel in its warmth

Candles and mirrors at nine

We all come together
We all do our part
Share a little bit of light
Help keep away the dark
