Nothing but fluff at nine

Yes, the news is awful
The world is naught but hell
But stories about nice things
Simply do not sell

It's still hot at nine

September will be next week
Cooler days are soon
While we're waiting on that
I'll play us a few tunes

What did I miss? at nine

 I'm sorry about last Friday
I try to keep misses unique
But to make it right
I'm here tonight
And probably again next week

I can't believe that it's here
With the news and the masks
It feels like we're back
Just where we last year

I dread the return to "normal"
Working from home has been nixed
And folks disagree
With the CDC
So I guess this will never be fixed

Getting there at nine

Oh, god, another show?
I've been busy, you know

Working towards the best at nine

Somehow, it is midsummer
All patios and sun
Even though vaxxed
We still wear masks
