As always, at 8.

We're just running all over the place
And so tonight's theme will be about space
It seems no one can keep their head
While we sort the living from dead
From closed club ashes, new ones spring
Everyone has their own thing
I know it's been an odd week, but
The set will start at, wait, dude...what?

Last Sunday, the Silo closed. It was a great place and they had some fine DJ talent over there. Since that time, two new clubs have opened and two others have been completely revitalized. It's remarkable just how many DJs there really are in SL and a lot of them know each other, go to the same clubs, and try to listen to each other's sets. But, as a result of one major (in my opinion, it was major) nexus point going away, there's been a lot of maneuvering between club owners, DJs, and the general listening public. The Silo location was purchased by one person just to keep a douche from getting a hold of it and sullying that memory.

As a result of this upset, everyone's mind has really been somewhere else. There have been a lot of deals made in IMs and people and schedules have really shuffled. It's like taking a post out of sand and watching the sand rush into the gap. I'm saddened that the club went away and the reasons it disappeared, but the effects that event has had on everyone has been very wearying and it might take a bit for things to settle down and people to be comfortable again.
