Quick! before I forget to say:
Sarah Fouquet turns an age today.
Each week I write a little rhyme
About how I will spin it.
Sometimes I do ahead of time;
Sometimes at the last minute.
I had worked out a lovely refrain
About love and the past and regret.
But a glimpse of a coyote from the train
Made me completely forget.

2. The Art of Noise - Opus for Four (3:11)
One of my SL buddies was turning two, which just means that she's had the account for two years, but we all have these celebrations for the "rez" day, which may seem just ridiculous to those of you not on Second Life. Now, Sarah is a musician in her own right and plays a variety of instruments and she's sent me some of her stuff in the past. I figured the best way to celebrate her rez-day was to play her music and music similar to it (imagined influences and the things that always went off in my head when I hear it). Looking back on it, it worked, everyone had a good time (the important part), and it was a pretty good showcase of Sarah's work.

16. Tomita - Clair De Lune - Suite bergamasque, No.3 (5:53)
Ah, Debussy, it always makes me a little teary-eyed. That a tune can be played on a moog and still sound so sweet is just proof of how good it is.

33. Sarah Fouquet - Pizzicato (2:45)
34. Fat Boy Slim - Weapon of Choice (5:47)
35. Vangelis - Blush Response (5:46)
I used to listen to a lot on Vangelis as a kid (and a lot of Steven Halpern) because I had terrible insomnia. Mom had set up a tape-player and she'd pop in a whole-tone music tape and I'd drift off. The problem was, the tape player was an older model Dad had brought from the office that he had used for recording interviews, so when the tape would end, there would be a few moments of silence and then a loud CLONK and the "play" button popped up. This may be the reason I am so distrustful of the newage movement.
37. Tortoise - Beautiful Love (4:42)
38. Sarah - Dance of the Angels (5:18)
39. Royal Space Force - Prototype C (4:32)
40. Yoko Kanno - Gun Crew's March (2:14)
41. Matt Uelmen - desert.mp3 (6:21)
42. Talking Heads - Sax and Violins (5:18)
43. Caleb Sampson - Circus in Outer Space (2:56)
44. Leonard J. Paul - Audiomobile (4:57)
My office at work is moving this weekend and so everyone had to pack these plastic orange boxes with the contents of their cubes. A few folks were upset by this process because they had a lot of stuff in their cubes and they were worried that it wouldn't all fit. The thing that annoyed me the most was the break-room had been packed ahead of time and so there was NO SUGAR FOR COFFEE on Friday. Finally, one of our managers was walking up and down the cubes saying "Moving day!" and the only response I had was, "Oh, but Auntie Shrew, Timothy has pneumonia and the chill in the air will kill him." At the end of the day, we had a pack of guys circling us, waiting for us to sign off so they could pack the computers. All I could think about was how much those ree-rees were getting paid and how much I need a new job.
Sarah says, "I'm glad I was listening via iTunes after I logged out. I loved the moving day Mrs Frisby reference."
