so day's slow decrease has begun and heat bear down.
As another moon has passed, so rents are due once more.
What primal forces bring us close and cheer our hearts
as we gather once more to dance our cares away?
Such mysteries have oft been discussed
and shall again, as clocks strike the eighth hour.
I played a lot of jazz on this night. There wasn't really any over-arching theme, just that it was hot outside and everyone wanted to relax.

Some CD cases I ordered a while back finally showed up, including one that I have wanted for a very long time. While sort of futzing with that and getting things out of the old plastic cases I've had the last ten years, I found a CD I'd received as a Christmas present some years back. I remember tearing through the house looking for it, knowing I had a copy. It was still in the shrink-wrap and I felt mildly embarrassed.

I think I have explained that I spend two hours everyday commuting to and from work. That's thirty minutes each way on the train and the remaining time is spent either walking to the train station or waiting for said train. This really doesn't give me much time to work on my sets, but if I was better at managing my time, I could just work out 30 minutes each night (granted, if I was really good at managing my time, my life would have turned out a little differently). The up-shot of all this is, we went random at this point. Now, when I say the set is going to go random, it's not purely up to chance, as I'll throw in tracks based on conversation in the club (which I do anyway), but there will still be songs where we have to call out NEXT because I have a lot of stuff in the library and it's always a bit of a shock what turns up at times.
