I know, not my best. It's been a tiring and trying week.

Round and round and down it goes
The markets are all flailing.
It's time Wall Street greed was opposed
To keep our banks from failing.
So now we turn to one who knows
We'll listen to what he's saying.
Who'll slay those giants, you suppose?
John Quixote and Sancho Palin.

8:00
1. Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain - Shaft (3:15)

Hey ho, and another Friday night. We're going to play a game: how much can I drink without puking?

The stock market is fluctuating more than the EEG of an epileptic during a seizure and I work for a bank. La la la. Meanwhile, there are roving bands of frothing conservatives throughout the midwest and they're demanding blood. I'm going to play some jazz and we're all going to chill out.

12. Rammstein - Halleluja (3:43)
13. Please Do Not Fight - On the Other Hand, Fight! Fight! Fight! (2:58)

15. Reading & Radio Resource - Nineteenth Amendment (0:20)
16. The Dust Brothers - What Is Fight Club? (4:44)

Vodka and "Endurance" flavored Vitamin Water (peach and mango) tastes a lot like a peach bellini. All this water and vitamin B may be counter-effecting the drinking I'm trying to do tonight. I have noticed the bottle is getting lighter and lighter.

Meanwhile, listening to the debate on Tuesday, I heard a vocal pattern from McCain that reminded me of something. It may have been an imitation of Regan's shambling corpse or Nixon's warble. It's hard to place.

A PINT OF VODKA! I didn't throw up, but I was pretty sure I'd had enough. Maybe not a full pint, a half-liter at least. It's enough. We'll see what the effect is, besides playing the 26th amendment twice and then trying to justify it by saying it's really really really important that people remember this one, which, by the way, Texas and Arkansas never ratified. At the time of this amendment's passage, only five states still retained a poll tax: Virginia, Alabama, Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Mississippi rejected the amendment. There ya go: edutainment.

A final note: I did not have a hangover when I woke up, but I did have some weird dreams. Nonetheless, it's not the kind of thing to make a habit. I even watched "Rhinoceros" with Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel this afternoon to remind myself of the perils of drinking. Oh! Thou foul demon alcohol.
